Case Study: Working With
Our Commer Van restoration & conversion was used in Walkers TV adverts
In 2013 one of our clients approached us interested in the restoration and conversion of an old Commer Van with the intention of letting it out to Walkers to feature in a range of TV adverts and promotional material for their 2014 “Do Us A Flavour” campaign.
We jumped at the idea as we love to restore and convert vintage vehicles.
When we picked up the Commer Van it had certainly seen better days, it was rusting, the paint was faded and the interior was long gone. We started by tearing the back section down to it’s chassis, repairing and re-welding sections of it and then re-building the rear with aluminium sheets.
We then started fitting out the inside with all of the catering equipment required by the client, sanded the exterior and got ready for painting.
Once painted we re-chromed the front bumper, polished everything up and we were done!
Walkers Commer Van: The final result
The final result of the Commer Van is a beautifully restored vehicle with crisp paint and bodywork and a simple but effective conversion into a catering vehicle with the addition of a customer hatch and staff entry door in the rear.
Overall it’s an accurate restoration back to what it would have looked like new, with a modest conversion that is functional and attractive.
